Dovecote of Agia Triada
Within the framework of the thematic cycle "Rare Earths" and the OPEN TINOS DOVE ROUTES festival (August 23 – September 6), KINONO presents on August 23, at the Peristeriona next to the Monastery of Agia Triada, the presentation of the poem "Apokopos" by Bergadis, with original music by Natalia Kotsani and Tasos Kofodimos. "Apokopos" will be performed by Natalia Kotsani (voice, keyboards), Vangelis Zografos (double bass), and Ross Daly.
"Apokopos," a seminal work of early Cretan literature during the Venetian period, first printed in Venice in 1509, meets the emblematic dovecotes of Tinos, architectural monuments with Venetian influences. Starting from the roots of Bergadis and through the connection of these two heritages – literary and architectural – the performance highlights the living connection between literature, music, and place, transforming memory into a contemporary artistic experience.
The musical setting of "Apokopos" was first presented as part of the 2023 program of the institution "All of Greece One Culture" of the Ministry of Culture.
